Fumaze
A while back a member was looking for a Fumaze... There's one on epay, not mine.

Re: Fumaze
The Original 1930's Fumaze had a seamed tubing. The later reproductions made during the 1970's/'80's were a very good duplicate, but the long tubing was a solid piece of pipe and not a seamed tubing like the originals. The top cover of the 1970's reproduction was nearly identical to the original from 1930's. So look for the seamed tubing if you want the original 1930's version. I could not tell from the photos on eBay, if the ebay Fumaze had a seam, or was solid.
But it is really not a big thing - as each year that goes by, there are fewer and fewer people who would know the difference - or care. |

Re: Fumaze
You only need a Fumaze if your rings are worn out or not seated properly which causes blow by.

Re: Fumaze
It also acts as a Road Draft Tube to remove moisture, acids and unburned hydrocarbons from the combustion process.

For all of you who DO take the time to better illustrate your point, I offer both a great round of applause and a 'Thank you for a job well done'. Some of us 'old timers' (well, me at least) are prisoners of technological ineptitude. |

Re: Fumaze
I disagree, all engines have "some" blowby otherwise why do you need a breathable oil cap? Dumping those fumes no matter how much makes the cockpit have less fumes.

Re: Fumaze
Is there any type of filter/screen that goes in there?

Re: Fumaze
No need for a 'filter'. The whole Idea is to get the 'blow by' out and down to the low exiting engine pan region, and away from the holes in the petals/S.column, thereby reducing engine fumes into the driver's compartment interior.

Re: Fumaze
Does Fumaze help breathing in addition to directing fumes downward?

Re: Fumaze
OK that is enough for me to make a mental note and check the one on my car.
Not sure how necessary the manifold heater and Fumaze are on a roadster but for some reason I have both accesories - but no side curtains..

Re: Fumaze
Wow. I paid $60 for mine. I think it is an original, but I need to check. I was interested in that one, but forgot about it. Just as well.

Re: Fumaze
Wow I really like mine on my car. Found at the Chickasha Pre War Swap meet. Paid less than 60 for mine. Bead blasted it and it turned out great. It's the original not the repop. Had to make a strap but it works great.
