My owner's manual says 14 gallons. FYI: 1932 was 10 gal. and 1941-48 was 17 gal.

Thanks fordy, When my guage (VDO) reads 1/8th I can only ut 11.5 gallons in so with 14 capacity seems that seems OK.

1/8th of 14 is 1.75. Subtract 1.75 from 14 and you get 12.25. You can only get 11.5 more gallons in so it looks like you have .75 (12.25-11.5) gal left when gauge reads empty.

The 1940 Ford Reference Manual (page 103) shows 15 gallons for all Ford Cars and Commercial Vehicles.

I made an error. My owners manual shows 15 gal, not 14. (4/3/24)

Well, you want to fill back up after using 14 gallons to be safe unless you like hitchhiking!
