1932 3 window trunk prop location?
Hello
Following through for a customer who would like to know the original location of the trunk prop on both the lid (distance from front) and the body (distance from front of opening and up/down from deck opening. He is converting a rumble lid car. Thanks |

Re: 1932 3 window trunk prop location?
Karl,
Sorry, but I'm away from my coupe so I cannot provide the requested dimensions. On the other hand If the body and deck lid are original, those locations are sort of built in. Every '32 coupe or roadster has a reinforcement doubler welded to the side of the drain channel on the left regardless of whether or not the body was eventually equipped with a rumble seat. There's a dimple in the center of that doubler where the hole goes for the bolt used for the deck lid support. The lids (all lids, whether rumble or deck) have a depressed area on the left side where the clinch nuts are located when deck lid equipped. When rumble equipped there are no clinch nuts, but the depression for them is there. |

Re: 1932 3 window trunk prop location?
My customer reports that his original rumble lid does not have dimples for the prop, and the original rumble lid I have also does not have dimples for the prop. All 5W/Roadster deck lids I have seen DO have the dimple...
My customer failed to get the mount holes right the first time, so he is hoping for locations known to be both original and working. |

I thought all 3 windows were rumble seat cars?

The base '32 deluxe coupe was the trunk model. The rumble seat was optional at extra cost, just as it was on standard coupes and standard roadsters.

Karl, 10 1/8” from rain gutter edge to bolt centre.
7 3/8” inside lip of trunk lid to the nearest screw centre. Ted |
