[QUOTE=Tinker;

I once used 5star out of CA. Good not cheap.

I wonder if he means Five Points? Quite a questionable history there. Years and a lot of nagging to get anything done. Good Luck: Fred A

Five Point Classic Auto Shocks. I bought some from them years ago when I was helping out at a Mustang shop down the street. Nice group. Let me watch them for a couple minutes while they were in the middle of a rebuild.

This seems just as bad as Mike Speed Shop. A ripoff is a ripoff.

I'm confused you sold a car with supposed shocks or...?

I'm sorry if I think this sounds unethical. I could understand it if this was a project car , not a driver , but you blew that theory when you describe how it drove . I guess we do live in a buyer beware society though , so nothing should surprise me. It does show how important lots of questions and pictures are when buying a car sight unseen.

Sounds like a candidate for 'Buyers beware club'

I am not sure who is selling reproduction shocks these days, but if it happens to be M&S, or someone who took over that business, beware of those. I got scammed by them years ago. Sent them a nice set of 35 cores to be rebuilt. The owner called and talked me into buying four of their reproduction shocks and he would trash my originals rather than have me pay postage to get them back. Those repros leaked from day one after installing them. Wound up pulling those off and getting Bill Wzorek to rebuild several sets of 35 shocks for my cars. They have worked perfectly, and are still on my cars.
Due to personal health issues, Bill decided to give up his shock rebuilding business, and trained Andy Falandes to take it over.
I met Andy last year at Hershey and he will get any of my business in the future if/when I need more shocks rebuilt. Andy is not into doing anything on computers, so you would need to call him for details on getting any work done.

Bill and Andy have rebuilt shocks for me. Never a problem and great work. Highly recommend!

Wow the limitations of posting on line in that sometimes all the details don't get written out or clear enough before the pundits start responding. I thought this was a post about Mikes Speed Shop!

Nothing unethical here. After spending a considerable sum for Model A shocks I installed them and could tell no difference in ride or handling so I resold the newly restored shocks and then put the car up for sale.

I did not advertise the car with shocks. The buyer had the opportunity to inspect the car and drive it before buying it.

I am selling another Model A without shocks shortly.

I'm not sure, but I don't think it's been mentioned yet that the member in question here is
mikesspeedshop.nc (he was last on here about an hour and half ago).
