Default gasahol gaskets

Anyone know what gasket material will stand up to today's gas/alcohol mix? I put a piece of neoprene in some and it dissolved it. I need a gasket for the filter bowl. e-mail [email protected]

I am actually using a cork gasket on the glass bowl on the fuel pump on a 41 Cadillac. A cork gasket that I cut from a sheet(from NAPA) will last about a week, then start leaking. I had to change to a different gas gauge float(don't know what it is made of) in my model A's because the cork ones would sink after a week or so and then fall apart. The cork gasket on one Model A gas tank cap dissolved completely and now the residue stops up the carb. Thanks

Yes, modern cork will not work.......it has other "binders" in it that the alcohol attacks.
Try finding some real 100% cork. If someone has a source for bulk real cork, please post it. I have some OLD stuff I'm using, but would like to get more.

Try a musical instrument repair shop.Cork sheets(4 inches by 6 inches)are available in different thicknesses for use on clarinet joints and saxophone necks.Might be what your looking for but are not cheap.
