Default California Duster

I bought a new California Duster at Costco for my '55 T-Bird.

It is totally different from my 20 year old one. The old one had a coating on it that picked up dust, but the new one (same brand) just moves it around.

Does anyone have experience loading the duster with something that holds dust. I thought of spraying Pledge, or some kind of furniture polish on it, but am not ready to experiment, if someone has done this already.

I the the original had some kind of paraffin coating, which the new one lacks, but I have no idea how to duplicate the coating.

Suggestions appreciated,
Rick
