Amos-1934 pickup...video link
Even though we've owned Amos, our '34 pickup for about 10 years, we never video'd him till this past July, shortly after some major repair. I thought you folks might enjoy the video. Copy and paste the link I guess ..
..if the [/url] shows up before and after the link you will need to get rid of them and just copy what's in between them I guess...haven't pasted a link here before. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pI43iuGxGc |

The link works perfectly. Amos is sounding and looking fine after the repair.

Mr Moose, I really enjoyed the ride in Amos. That would be just like when I first bought Merlot in '57. I changed the engine in about 1964 to an 8BA from a 1954 Meteor. Also 1935 wheels. Thanks for sharing, Byron

Very beautiful truck. It runs like it should be driven, and often. Have fun.

Re: Amos-1934 pickup...video link
Very enjoyable...like a visit to your place. My first thought seeing you drive down your street was it looks like those shots of Culver City in the 1920s or '30s where they filmed Laurel and Hardy movies. That is, NO cars parked on the street. I have only seen that on Los Angeles streets when it is street cleaning day!
It's a treat to hear Amos run too. Thanks. |

Lawson-Amos is driven about avery weekend, but not often very far. I do not fit so well anymore but do what I can. It is always fun and an adventure every time.

Re: Amos-1934 pickup...video link
Vic, I noticed after posting to youtube that the lens was dirty apparently and would surely like to do it more professionally, but if I wait for all that I'll likely be retired 1st. Sorry I missed the fun this w/e...long to do list. Careful on your trip...think calming thoughts, maybe one of them audio tapes of whale sounds would do it lolol.

Jeff, I hope we'll have an enjoyable/uneventful ride up to, and back from, Dawsonville. I'll let the sound emanating from the Brockman Mellow-Tones calm me on the ride...

Re: Amos-1934 pickup...video link
Jeff: Thanks for the invite for pictures. I posted an 8X11 picture of Amos in my garage to use as a reference and encouragement to keep going with my 10 year restoration. He is still there watching over us. I'll get a few pictures together, and perhaps post an album. I'll let you know when it is up, the "Merlot naming picture is enclosed, Byron.

Re: Amos-1934 pickup...video link
MRMOOSE, Thanks for sharing Amos sounds and runs like a dream, it looks like new from top to bottom. Also cudo's to the Mrs. for her help on the video of Amos on it's run. I especially like these ol cars when everything just for a split second or so goes quiet waiting on that shift to the next gear and the accelerator is once again pressed to get em up to speed for the very next gear if needed. lol
