Default '61 full size Mercury heater core availability

Hi. I noticed antifreeze leaking from my Mercury Monterey's heater box inside the car today. It could just be the connection between the hot water control valve (also located in the box, according to the shop manual) and the heater core, or it could be the core itself or control valve.

I won't be able to get the unit apart til later, but I thought I'd check the price and availability of heater cores and control valves online. Unfortunately, I'm not finding any heater cores or control valves for the full size Mercury in '61 (352 engine) online. And no cores with the same kind of inlet/outlet configuration. Does anyone know of a source for new heater cores for this car? I also looked for '61 Galaxie cores, thinking they may be the same, but I found none of those either.

Are there heater core repair/refurbishment services anywhere? Thanks for any help.

I've bought parts from only one of these places, (vanpelt, 100% happy with them)
just putting the other names out there in case it helps.

you can probably have the heater core repaired/ re-cored by a good radiator shop, if you have one near by. If the ends(tanks) are good they can reuse them. Check with shoebox central , they may be able to rebuild your old control valve

Thanks for the info, guys. Yes, a friend who's doing a full restoration on a '61 Meteor 800 has told me that repops of the heater cores don't exist. It would still be interesting to know if the Galaxie core is the same or similar. My friend pointed me to a place in California that redid his heater core and he was pleased (Salinas Radiator.) I have no experience with them. It'll be a few days before I get things pulled apart. If it was a matter of buying a new one I'd go ahead and order one, but with the rebuild approach I don't think I'll get it recored unless it needs it.

If you need a 1961 Galaxie heater core to have pressure checked and fixed if needed, I have a couple available. Bob
