Cleaning up and found a surprise!
When I was replacing the rear spring on my coupe I noticed that the rear backing plates were looking a little rough. With the nice weather we are having around here I thought I would do a little clean up today. After scraping grease and paint I found this hole at the bottom or each rear backing plate. Having never messed with backing plates before I checked the literature I have and could not find a picture with this hole at the bottom. Is this correct? should their be some kind of plug here?

Uh oh... You removed that factory "strange hole covering grease?" It may not run the same now!

I have the same hole on both my rear plates. I believe they are ment to act as drain holes. They ar factory holes tho.

i went a little further and sealed between the baffle and backing plate around that hole so all leakage has to go out that hole, none down the inside of the backing plate |
