Re: Suspected spam
That's why it's often better for the buyer to spend the extra time and money to actually go and pick up high dollar parts. I know that's not easy to do and adds cost and time, especially if you're working 9 to 5. It would be great if the buyer could have a HAMBER or FORDBARNER who lives near the seller to check out the parts for the buyer and buy them on the spot with $$ sent by the buyer for a small fee. Would give some peace of mind.

Re: Suspected spam
Always ask questions before sending money, scammers watch the wanted list and are banking on people wanting the parts so desperately they don't think it through, if they are not members here or on the hamb and have a long presence on the forums they usually scammers, if they joined the same say you got the email you can bet it's a scammer.
I'm afraid you have lost your money. HRP

Re: Suspected spam
I had an AD two weeks ago looking for tires. A fordbarner suggested I contact the guy you referenced. I had some communication with him. I found him evasive and didn't have answers to my direct questions. He fell by the wayside very quickly.

Re: Suspected spam
Sorry to hear this.
The scammers who have contacted me are first timers or have 0 posts. Often they refer to another friend with email. They cannot answer questions. I purposely ask them for photos and phone number and they do not respond....

Re: Suspected spam
There's a lot of attempting scamming going on. I've recently posted two different wants
on the EFV8 site and experienced two separate attempts. One guy said he had an NOS CL-6 horn cover but disappeared when I requested a picture. Peter |

Re: Suspected spam
Most of the scammers are using gmail accounts.
They will refer you to their "friend" or someone with the part. They will use photos from stock pictures and photos from other member's ads. I had a guy a few months back try to sell me a piece that I was looking for. I added a picture of what I was looking for and the piece of shit used MY photo to try to scam me. Be very diligent. Never ever buy from a brand new member. Never. Never ever use Paypal "family and friends" to pay for anything. I won't use paypal at all unless I know you. I prefer USPS Money Orders for my junk. Your loss...
