Default 1946 - 1948 Flathead engine setup

I'm starting to get things arranged to go back on my engine. My engine never had spark plug wire tubes when I bgt. truck, so I purchased a set. I installed my coil and now the plug tube on left side will not fit. Evidently, I am overlooking something. Did my engine(with coil 1GA-12024)(6 volt) not come originally with the wire tubes? I think my easiest fix is to add enough flat screws under the coil mount(into Intake Manifold) to give room under the mount for the spark plug tubes. Am I correct or will it interfere with something else later?
Thanks for your advice and help.
Randy

A picture would be helpful to see what you've got and what the problem is.

Randy, for sure your plug wire tubes are for a 46-48? I think some year tubes are just a little different in mounting. Like mentioned above, a picture might help. Just a thought.

Thanks for the reply's. I will get some pictures on Monday and then post them. I had hoped to use both items, but it looks as if I will have to improvise. Thanks

Randy I just went and looked at my 46 engine. My coil bracket mounts directly on the two front intake bolts and my plug wire tube crosses over the top of it at the rear where the coil would mount. Although I do not have a coil on it at the time, but that should not make a difference. I can try and snap a picture if that would help. Mark.

ZZ, I would love to see a photo of your setup. My coil mounting bracket does mount to the first two bolts of the Intake Manifold. The tubes have the two brackets that are mounted to the Intake Manifold as well and I can't move the tubes around because of the mounting brackets. My truck is a 39 and the motor is 46-48. I never know what to expect next when I buy items for my truck. The truck came with a homemade coil bracket and had no sparkplug tubes. I bought the items and I am running into questions as I am assembling everything. It is like a jig-saw puzzle. Thanks for the help. Randy

Thanks ZZ for the great pictures. From memory, I am sure I tried to place the tube over the coil mount, and the mounting part of the tube did not reach the bolt of the intake manifold. I will check mine for sure on Monday. Did different years of plug tubes have different mounting brackets(longer-higher-in different places)? It is hard to imagine how helpful pictures are.
My truck spent almost its entire life around Hollywood and Ventura and Oxnard, Cal. It was bgt. in 1960 in Sun Valley by man whose wife I bgt. it from. Close to you?
Thanks again.
Randy

Ya. Just a very few miles from me. I know Sun Valley well. I should have taken pictures of my tubes and how they mount. Would that help you?
I have 38 ,24 stud engine in my garage. I can look at it also. Just seems like I ran into a difference some where. Maybe some one will chime in.
