Running board, what am I missing?
One of my running boards has what looks like a lip on the side facing out, but the other one is missing the lip. I just bought some stainless trim, and it looks like it might slip over the lip. I looked everywhere, but can't find that piece, or figure out how it attached to the end of the running board.
I attached a picture of each running board, and I apologize if the pictures aren't great, my garage is small and didn't feel like moving everything in the driveway to pull the car out. |

It appears that the outer lip is missing.

Re: Running board, what am I missing?
I R&Red the running boards on my '29 Tudor. The outer lip on that car is a stainless (perhaps chromed, I don't know) piece that is actually bent to capture the lip of the steel running board. I wrote it up with a few pictures at https://cedarcreekas.org/TechTopics/...ningBoards.pdf

If I can't find the original or a new one, can I substitute it with an L shaped steel beam that I would drill and bolt on and then cover with the trim piece? I attached a couple of pictures of L shaped beams I had in mind. |
