Re: Turn Signals in Front (or Back) You decide

I've got the turnsignals in my cowl lights, but added the motorcycle lights on bumper for side visibility too. The rear trailer lights don't look as bad as you might think, and I love the sidelight feature. But, if someone would modify the teacups to have a sidelight, I'd switch in a heartbeat. |

Re: Turn Signals in Front (or Back) You decide
HELP! I've asked before, but folks seem to ignore me??
Suggestions, please, for my early '29 coupe, From Mac's, I bought those little tiny rectangular chrome lights with a stud & nut mounting. Where to mount them? I thought about on the "A" post barely above the center hinge. I think there is a cavity inside the post for the mounting stud & probably room to run the wire totally hidden. If they looked too conspicuous, I could paint the chrome shell with body color. They would look perfect under my headlights, but I WILL NOT drill a hole in perfect nickel plated headlights. I want to put them where the wires will be hidden. Anyone with a '28 or a '29, look at your car & give me some ideas, PLEASE! I also thought about removing one of the screws that hold the visor on drill it out & replace it with the mounting stud, it could be seen well, but I think it would look "DORKY!" Bill W.

The danger with hand signals is that today's drivers are only checkin' to see if you are holding out your one arthritic finger that won't BEND! Fortunately, for me, I only have 1 pinkie that won't straighten out! Bill W.

Re: Turn Signals in Front (or Back) You decide
Modern drivers are all in a hurry and pay no attention to *anything* except texting and makeup. We can't keep up with traffic well, and can't accelerate well, and all the highways are crammed with idiots. No matter what you do you are taking a chance. I changed out my stock taillites for the LED ones that fit in the same teacup. I have a large red-orange "slow moving vehicle" triangle on the back of my trunk. I have turn signals in the cowl lites but realistically the front is not the issue...it is assumed that as an antique car driver you are gonna be good and sure that left hand turn is gonna be safe from on-coming traffic before you make it; the rear is where you need all the visibility you can get. And this is all gonna get worse as the highways continue to get more crowded. And a seat belt in an A is a joke. A reporter asked me on a tour, "Is it safe", and I replied H*LL no, but I am not gonna let that stop me from touring.
