Re: klaxton horns
Most HAND powered Klaxton horns are mounted up by the driver on the false door or withing easy hands reach. Whistles like the ones mounted on the exhaust pipe and chimes (such as a Bermuda bell) might be operated by the foot with the pedal mounted on the floor. Compression and wolf whistles in general are operated by a pull cord through the firewall/bulk head/dash.

Re: klaxton horns
Klaxon (not Klaxton) is a brand name, but has come to be used generically for any similar mechanical horn. The one on my 1915 happens to be a Stewart. They all work in a similar way. Pushing down the plunger turns a wheel with bumps on it that hit a button on the back of the diaphragm to vibrate it.
