1950 Chevy 92 hp 216 --- said to be a good 50 mph car

1940's Plymouths 95-97 hp 6 cyl Cruise well at 45 -50

Early 30's cars with 4.11 and higher diff gear 35 - 40

So a Model A at 45 ain't so bad after all!

It is not the need for speed but the traffic conditions many of us have to deal with. Not everyone lives in an area that you can putt around at 25, 30 or 35 all day and not deal with cars and trucks moving at a higher speed with no were to turn out.
<1948 F2 4.86 40-45 ok, over that winds her up more then I like.

Nobody’s has talked about tires sizing? Or should say tire OD, i went from a 28’’ od 16, to a 30’’ od 19 and it made a big difference! :-)
