Model A Front Brake Adjusters
I have a '30 Model A that has bolts threaded in from the back side of the front backing plates. It does not have the square stud type like it is supposed to have. The bolts are removeable. I had perfectly working front brakes, until they were loosened up to take the drums & hubs off to repack the wheelbearings. I put the bolts back in aftrr the drums were put back on. I can adjust one side, but not the other. Has anyone ever seen this type of setup?

Re: Model A Front Brake Adjusters
Yes, there have been floaters made that allowed the top part of the front brake shoes to self-center like the later V-8 mechanical brakes. They typically used a bolt as yours have to force a separate wedge to spread the shoes. Perhaps the wedge in the adjuster got turned sideways when the adjuster screw was backed off and now doesn't spread the shoes.

I haven't used any floater kits, but I think John is right about the problem.
