FWIW I will never use YRC ever again. Quit years ago when it was Yellow. Tried again more recently. Big Mistake.
Your experience may vary.

Y R C busted the block on a built 274 C I D flathead engine. $4,300.00. Semi must have been in a serious accident and engine went flying. They said they would pay .50 per pound for a used engine. $400.00. I spent $500.00 to have a lawyer try to collect. I gave up and I signed the release for the $400.00. That was 2 months ago. I am still waiting for the check.

Did you buy declared value/agreed upon value
insurance before you contracted for drop shipping ?

If you are going to ship a $4300 engine indirect
thru any commercial carrier then you need to
build a bullet proof crate and insure it for an
agreed upon replacement amount in the event
of damage or loss.

YRC is nothing more than one of hundreds of trucking companies...NO Better, No Worse! There are multiple positive & negative feedbacks about them (just like EVERY other one of the big carriers)

Cargo Insurance is a joke when it comes to our hobby! Everything is just peachy until you need to make a claim, then they (like every other trucking company) Low Ball you. When you object, they say...SUE US! They have lots of money & plenty of lawyers on retainer.

God Bless
Bill

40+ years of shipping 28-48 Ford reproduction frames by truck freight created lots of shipping damage. No matter how I packaged the pieces freight handlers could figure out a way to damage them. In all those years with multiple damage claims backed up with pictures, driver documentation and playing by their rules I never collected a dime for damage. I'm glad it's over for me.

Way back in the 60's I was working on a NASA research project. We sent a research engine and had it in a very strong plywood box. It even had big notices on all sides stating "Critical to maned space flight"
It got fork lift forks rammed all the way thru.
Missed the engine

years ago ups managed to break the snout off a VERY valuable frenzel supercharger that I had purchased from a friend in California. he paid to have a packing company pack it properly for it's trip to Vermont. even so, ups managed to bust it. I spent over a year trying to come to any resolution with ups to no avail.

If it wasn't it should have had a crate built for an item that rare.Heavy parts often shift in shipment if not secured properly and can get damaged.

The same old story. About 20 years ago a sold a set of fresh "triple nickel" early hemi heads to a guy in Wisconsin, less than 200 miles away via Federal Express. They never got there. After several back and forths with Fedex, I received a greasy, used, single SBC "smogger" head and they closed the case. I was out $500. I contacted a lawyer, but he wanted a retainer alsmost as much as the value of the heads.
