Ok, so who makes a fuel sender that works properly?
I cant find a good original fuel sender for a '41 pickup, and I've heard that some? repro's don't work with original gauges. Which one should I get then?

King-Seeley manufactured the only ones that work well. Too bad they don't still. Good used ones can be found out there. Some just need the little points cleaned. The top can be popped off without damage if a person is carefull.

A resistive unit will work with the stock gauge. The values you need are 80 ohms for empty and 10 ohms full. The float arm travel and length must match the original unit. You may need to tweak the replacement sender to achieve this. If you can find a functional original
King-Seeley you will be better off. |

Re: Ok, so who makes a fuel sender that works properly?
I have a 12V sender from Drake. Installed and adjusted float arm according to instructions. Using original gauge on '41 pickup that was converted to 12V. Works just fine. When it reads empty it is out of fuel....

I have had 3 of Drake's senders on 3 different 35-36 cars and they all worked perfectly.I also had converted those cars to 12V.Part # 99A-9275
