Default Pinion Nut

The 52 Merc has had a loose pinion and leaking seal ever since I got it mobile so today I finally got around to looking at it. I found the nut holding the yoke onto the pinion shaft was not very tight. I must have tightened it quite a bit and now the shaft is noticeably tighter fitting. Before I could literally move the shaft up and down inside the seal area. No movement now. No doubt it still needs a seal. I guess it is time for a test drive.
