Column drop rebuild parts needed
I ordered a rebuild kit with an ignition switch for a 36 Ford. Came from Vintique. The off and on plate is backwards. When the toggle is down it says on and when its up it says off. Anyone else have this problem? Anybody besides Vintique make these parts? I was in a hurry and went ahead and used it but would like to make it right in the future. Maybe its designed to be a theft deterant LOL. I dont remember who made the ones I have to rebuild 40 switches but they were correct.

That is correct. On is down. The '37 is opposite of the '36 and the '37 column drop is longer .Drake also makes those tabs.

Re: Column drop rebuild parts needed
deuce lover is correct, the 35 and 36 Ford ignition switch on position is down. 37 Ford changed to the on position up.
Also if your switch works in the up position, then you have the wrong switch plate probably for a 37 Ford. |
