Int A Day NZ SNOW
Four Nelson Rebel A members battled the out of season weather to join members from Christchurch & hosts Greymouth at a small town Murchison. En route we encounted snow, hail, rain & hi winds but being true Rebels we made it through, Some 22 A,s gathered for an informal celibrations on Saturday & Sunday, Rodger D was the organiser , Fantastic time ( apart from the weather) was had by all, It was agreed to make it a yearly event with Christchurch members to arange next year, Return trip home saw much better weather with no snow storms, Derek from a chilly , snowy still shaking mainland NZ.

Roads over there were laid on the terrain surface, as if they never heard of cut and fill , just lay bitumen on top of the ground. This road was like a continuing roller coaster in a straight line.. Was right on the verge of the snow line at that time of year. For miles, every 100 yards or so, went up on crest and it snowed on screen, then went down and it turned to rain, then up and snow, then down rain, etc for half an hour. The south island of NZ has fascinating scenery. |
