Default 40 pickup owners - measurement please

what is the height of the front cab mount leg to the frame when the wood mounting block is properly installed?
I'm using a 47 cab, so the floor contour is different and standard blocks don't fit. I'll make hybrid blocks that are a cross between 40 and 47 configuration, but need the aforementioned measurement.

Thanks in advance.

The wood does not come as far forward as the front mount. There is nothing between the mount and the frame, but it is normal to use some shims there as necessary to aid alignment. 1/16" or 1/8" is all you might need. I have some rubberised webbing under my 41.

Mart is correct, there is no wood under the front cab mount.

I have had this same issue with the later style 42-47 cab on a 36 frame for a non-flattie 40-41. Drake and other catalogues have some pretty good picks of how the cab wood should be - then modify the blocks for the later cab and see what’s different. Basically you work from the back the cab forward to use the 40-41 cab mounting wood. And you be sometimes have to cut the cab mount wood into smaller pieces and shave the upper outer edge of the wood as well.

I have a build thread on the HAMB and there are some pics of what I did. It’s entitled 40 FORD P-UP BUILD THREAD by TomT - the build thread is quite large but that portion is closer to the beginning of the build thread than the end. You can Pm me with any questions/your email address and I will search for the pics and send them to you. But, seeing what I did in the build thread and reading what I wrote is better than just the pics……

Best of luck …..
