Default 33-34 diff cover plate

In my old 33 the plate that covers the rear end under the rear seat base is a big square sheet metal plate that someone has self tapper screwed in,
I see that there is a nice round recess under it,is the cover that should be in there a wooden plate like the battery lid or a steel pressing,
Any one have a pic of what should be there.
Thanks Lawrie

I just got a diff cover plate from MAC's. It measures 12 inches diameter and it is perfectly round. My 33 is a 4 cyl but I think is the same for the V8. I am trying to upload 2 pictures for you. Hopefully they will come up.

The round stamped steel cover was used originally on sedans, phaetons, and coupes and standard roadsters without a rumble seat. Deluxe roadsters, cabriolets, and coupes with rumble seats used a fabric cover (with a spring wire retaining ring sewn into the perimeter) that snapped into slots in the sides of the opening in the floor pan.

Lawrie.. Re the Diff cover plate, I went to the Thrift store and bought an old Aluminum fry pan, the right Diameter, and cut the rim down with a scroll saw; to the right size and hammered it on a block of wood to dome shape it slightly, made up some clips (3) to hold it in place, painted it then when I was ready to make it permanent I sealed the edge with some asphalt sealer, looks good and is sealed JMO..
