Full pressure oiling.
I’ve got an engine it’s all set up for full pressure oiling, except, for the plumbing in the valve chamber. I’ve got the info from sos which say you should do the bearing feeds before babbitting. This wasn’t done. Any thoughts on how to connect to the bearing feeds in the galley? Tia

Re: Full pressure oiling.
Chuck, it makes a difference if it is an A or B engine. e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll send you a chapter from my book.

Re: Full pressure oiling.
Jim I have your book. It’s an A engine. I only see pictures,re feeding the bearings, which I don’t understand. So the question remains, how to connect feed lines to the bearing feed lines? Possibly drill and tap? I see the upper tube ends are about a quarter inch below the casting.

Re: Full pressure oiling.
Chuck,
I have seen where the copper tube is epoxied into the feed tube in the valve chamber. I guess it works, haven't heard any failures. What I have done is to take out the feed tubes and tap the casting where the tube goes into the bearing 1/8 NPT. Then I take just the adaptor section of a compression fitting and screw it into the tapped hole. Then feed copper tube down the feed tube hole from the valve chamber and guide it into the fitting. Once in, heat the fitting and solder the tube in place. John

Re: Full pressure oiling.
A lot of work and you run out of room real quick to use larger tubing
