Default 1935-1939 pickup headlight rims

Is there a trick for installing headlight rims on these buckets? I have got a set of Drake rims (On backorder for 1.5 years) they look to be correct but they hang up on a couple of nubs around the perimeter of the bucket (Very Tight). I can barely get the rims on. I don't see any way possible to install the reflectors, clips and lenses and then try to get the Rims on.

Regards,

Brian

i don`t know about the re-pos, but the original headlight doors are very tight. i usually use the heel of my hand [to spread the load] and hit the rim sharply adjacent to the nub. getting them off is a chore, usually gritting my teeth and hoping i don`t break anything.
