Small block ford valve covers??
I know for made a Mercury embossed valve cover for the 352, 390 FE engines so I started wondering if Ford also made a Mercury embossed valve cover for the 289-302 engine? If so does anyone have a set lying around that they may want to part with?

Re: Small block ford valve covers??
Had a bone stock 68 Mercury Montego "J" code (302/4bbl) and the valve covers were "Powered by Ford".

Re: Small block ford valve covers??
The other option is the valve cover adapters that let you put FE valve covers on a SBF.

Re: Small block ford valve covers??
I did what Sweatdreams discribed, only I did it on a nine inch housing. I had a Ford logo on about 1/8 steel from a shipping rack. A fork lift knocked it off the rack, and I didnt want anyone to trip over it. I cleaned it really well, and ground away all but the oval, then gently heated it to conform to the rear of the nine inch axle housing. I sweat brazed it on, and gently hand filed all the brass that showed. It held prime and paint with no problem. I had a Mopar fan convinced it was a rare Lincoln signature housing. Shame on me!

Don, you have to set the bar a little higher. Screwing with Mopar guys heads is well below your skill set................

Re: Small block ford valve covers??
1968 Cougars had a optional Cougar cat valve covers. Some repops are on epay. Not cheap but they look great and they look 100% like the ones I had back in the 60's.

Re: Small block ford valve covers??
I have a winter project planned to take the aluminum 302 Mustang valve covers off my 54 Merc. & take my router & remove the Mustang raised letters. Then find a Mercury with some letters I can put on my covers.
