1939 Ford Standard Shock Absorber Links

So have removed rear shock absorbers for a rebuild. There is a guy locally here in NZ who does these.
In the process have removed the shock absorber links, which are worn at rubber bushes. The ones I removed are 4". P/N: 78-18055-A.
Are these the correct length i should be fitting?
As the 99A-18055-A are 4.75" and are from Mercury.
Then there are the 3" length ones??

Ok have just relooked at the Green Bible.
For a 1939 Ford Standard I require the 4" long ones. P/N: 78-18055-A.
So those removed were the correct ones.

I just replaced the two front links on mine, bought them from Carpenter, was disappointed they were made in China. I thought about nos but wondered how 78 year old rubber bushings would hold up.

The "green bible" only offers service parts that fit and function.

The only PROPER link for your vehicle was 3" in length. And yes, at all four corners...

The 4" links were used starting in 1940 only on the front and only when the vehicle had the sway bar installed.
Longer links (than 4") were not installed authentically at the factory.

Appreciate the clarification on that Kube. So the fitting of the 4" links will not upset the system too much in combination with rebuilt original rear shocks?

You're okay to run 4" links. They are simply not correct. Functional, sure.
