Default Thomas head and Mallory distributor?

Hi, does anyone know if the Thomas head with a Mallory distributor, 2301105, requires the distributor cam shaft to be drilled and pinned to the oil pump? If this is a "dumb" question, bear with me as about everything is a learning experience for me.
Thanks!

Hey Phil,
Dumb question..don't know, because can not figure it out !
Is this 'trick' question (s) ? First you could probably substitute any head and the question would be as confusing. Never have heard of a dist cam shaft attached to an oil pump 'drilled/pinned'. Usually, the dist/shaft has offset slots that must be matched up with dist and oil pump shafts.
Mabe 'new' setup,eh

Hi Phil, If the mallory dist. is made for a Model A, it will have an offset slot in the bottom of its' upper shaft that will mate to top of your lower shaft.

Phil, maybe you're confused with the one piece dist shaft, which IS pinned to the dist? Otherwise, drop in the short shaft & just stick the dist in. Bill W. ( STICK means install!)
