Default how about "original Model A" stuff on eBay

On Saturday nights I used to love opening a bottle of beer and sitting by the computer looking at Model A parts on eBay. Yes, I have even bought a few items. However things have changed. Now it seems that most parts are sold by just a few vendors and that a vast majority are reproduction parts, car covers, trunk openers, etc.

I was hoping that it might be possible that there is an original Model A parts section. So I went on eBay and typed in "original Model A Ford". It spit out only 156 original Model A parts.

Living in the Rockies is great for many things but swap meets are few and far between. I know that there is a very nice Swap Meet area on the Fordbarn and I am very thankful for that. However, I also enjoy looking at Model A parts on the Internet, on eBay.

So I have a request...

...when putting parts for sale on eBay would all the members of Fordbarn and like minded hobbyists please put "original" somewhere in the title of the part being sold.

Tonight the original 156 parts helped me get through about a half a beer. I'd sure like next Saturday night to be more enjoyable.

Thanks.
Dean

Dean, I like that suggestion. I rarely sell, but when I do, I will include the word original in my title description. Great idea.
Should we all assume your beverage was a "Fat Tire" brew?

Will do my best Dean. Been about a month since I have listed anything, but planning to the next several weeks. Wife says I have to remodel the bathroom the week of Thanksgiving, so scaring up money for that. Pulled the delivery engine today, to see how shot it is. Looks like full rebuild will be needed, so will have to sell more to accomplish that. Rod

How about drinking the other half down in Idaho this week with the rest of us?

I click the "auction" tab at the top, which weeds out the "buy it now" listings. This seems to get rid of the vast majority of dealer listings.

As an eBay seller I try to put as much in the title as I can, if there is room for "Original" or "NOS" I'll do it. The eBay thing that REALLY BUGS ME, is the listing of 6-10 of THE SAME ITEMS by the same seller!!! If I had 6 widgets I'll list one, hope for a bidding war then offer the first looser a second chance offer for the second item. He's thrilled to get the item for his loosing bid, I've sold TWO items, and a few days later start it all over with widget #3. Parts whore? Maybe, but I'm happy.

I am finding some if not most of the good N.O.S. and Mint parts which brings big bucks[l.o.l] are now being sold off ebay. Their charges and taxes to be claimed at the end of the year put a damper on some good sellers that you just don't see anymore on Ebay.

I agree with Fred, people won't put original if their not sure that it is. While some will put original just because it was on the car when they bought it. It's a crap shoot. You just have to know what your looking at.
