Identifying a Model A Engine
I have an engine that I think is a 1929. The Oil Pan is different than the one on my 1930. It has the rounded area for the longer pump tube with oil drain in the bottom of it.
It also has a Power House generator on it and I thought they were only put on the 1928 models. I recognize that someone could have added this unit. I would still like to know that this is a 1929 engine. I believe it was a service engine because it does not have Serial Numbers. Are there other identifying marks or features that one would use to be sure of year when looking at exterior of motor? Last edited by Tootall; 11-30-2018 at 11:59 AM. Reason: typo's |

Re: Identifying a Model A Engine
Oil pan is 1928, but the powerhouse was used until mid 1929.

Go to Steve Pluckers web site and find the PDF titled Cylinder Block Change Discription, I used it to ID a bare block with no engine #, it was between March and August 1930. Regards Brian. http://www.plucks329s.org/
