Re: Old fogeys forum
How old is an old fogey?
I suppose that is a matter of perspective of comparison in age. I am 52, I suppose I am an old fogey to the 20 something generation. I sometimes think it is not the age of a person, it is how one comes across interacting with others. I have 75-85 year old friends that are really into old cars, still have a twinkle in their eyes when they speak of back in 1957 like it was yesterday. They are older than me, but to me they are far from being an old fogey. Just my perspective and thoughts. Jim |

Re: Old fogeys forum
old is as old as you feel, not putting any one in a box, just trying to keep in touch with the original fordbarn members

Why dont you form a club? If you look on the hamb they have clubs for all kinds of things, I dont see why you cant form that type of club.

Just call yourself the brotherhood of the OLd Skool Barn or something, put it out there among the guys, some one will savy up and create it, then join.

Re: Old fogeys forum
I can understand your desire to keep in touch with old friends, there may be name changes and it will take some time to catch up with who is who. I'm a new guy here from the HAMB but I have stone stock cars as well. I for one, don't want any of the long time Barn folks thing the site is being over run. There is so much info and knowledge here I'm gratefull Ryan picked it up. Bob

Re: Old fogeys forum
For years when I went to my local club meeting I was to only one there without gray or white hair. Fortunately, recently we have a new member who still has color in his hair so I am not alone. I am only 65.

I've noticed that some have come to this site and changed their names. To protect the innocent? LOL.

Re: Old fogeys forum
Not me, I just haven't read anything to post to till today. Most of the conversations have been about the new forum and I have been on HAMB for a few years so this is not new to me.

Re: Old fogeys forum
The Hamb has an "Old Farts Club" for cumudgeons and old farts who like to talk about things as they used to be, as they would like them to be now, and things that are maybe slightly off topic, but not too far. Example, among other thing the OFC like to talk about classic cars, sports cars and racing cars from yesteryear, which is not strictly what the Hamb is about.
Just a thought. |

Re: Old fogeys forum
I think most people realize that these sideline "social groups" (official title)are just a small room off the hall that someone can stop by at coffee time or happy hour and spend a few minutes with old friends.
