Default '51 Vicky fuel tank?

I'm having trouble getting fuel to pump. I took the line from tank to pump & used air gun to blow through. No problem. I've now got the tank out. I took out sending unit & rinsed out. Found small amount of scale & even some small rocks. I then tried to blow through fuel outlet. No luck. Is there a check valve or something inside the tank at the pick-up that would stop flow back into tank? At this point, I had better know before I start trying to clear whatever the obstruction is.

I've worked on 49 and 50 tanks, I'm pretty sure 51 is the same. There is no check valve. The fuel pickup tube gets easily plugged because there is no screen on the end. The tube is soldered into the tank and isn't easily removed. You will have to blow out the obstruction or run a probe down it and clean it out. The tank will have to be really clean to prevent future clogs. Hope this helps.
