Default 48-52 239 V8 temp sender wire clip

Anybody have one of these clips on your front carb stud? I saw it in the parts book but have never seen one? Apparently it's used to hold the temp sender wire off the block?

There were two different ignition lead support holders used in the 8BA era. One of them has a hole in between the ignition leads that the temp sender harness lead was passed through. It just depends on what year model it is as to how the harness wire was dressed.

Perhaps so but none of those bolt to the front carburetor stud, they use the manifold bolts.

I would think the carb stud is wrong because the base of the carb is heated and the manifold would be a little cooler but I don't know for sure.

I don't recall seeing one with a clip on a carb stud. Carb studs have to be tightened pretty well and I never liked putting anything on one that didn't absolutely have to be there. I prefer the manifold mounted supports anyway.

My engine has the "cloverleaf" ignition wire supports, and the wire is run thru the center of those.

JB got a reply from someone on another forum who has what appears to be a factory clip, on the front carb stud. Never seen one myself.

There Ya'go. Obviously was used on early production that did not have the clover leaf wire supports.

At least that clip is designed to be out of the way. It can be pain enough to get some carb nuts off and on. That engine definitely has the early type ignition lead supports.
