Default Lost My Mom Today

I know this isn't Facebook, and I know that the only one of you I ever met in person was subsequently kicked out of the club, but I do think of you as my international circle of friends.

We shore each other up through busted knuckles and busted studs, lost tools and lost combustion.

Occasionally, however, we shore each other up through lost loved ones, too. Now it's my turn.

My mom was in a coma following a stroke nearly 2 weeks ago. She finally surrendered this morning on my watch. She made it to 82, which is pretty darn good, through some of the most interesting times in world history.

Thanks to her being the daughter of her father, I received the hereditary interest in great cars that has led me here.

So - thanks, Mom. Godspeed.

Sorry to hear about your Mom.
It is terrible. Things never seem the same after you lose your Mom.
My mother passed away in 1991 and it took me 10 years to get used to the idea.
I know what you are feeling...It is very difficult. My mom was very religious and told us never to worry if she dies. It was still hard, even if you know she lives on beyond, because she is no longer here with us.

Sorry to hear of your loss. She lived a long and hopefully , a happy life. I have been down that road and it's not an easy one to travel. I think of my Mom and Dad every day. I learned a lot from them and I've tried to pass it on to my children. As time goes on, you'll hurt less, but it doesn't go completely away. Remember all the good in your parents.

Speaking of Mom's .... Any of you old enough the remember that 1950's song "Oh My Ma-Ma" recorded I believe by singer Eddie Fisher. It was preceded or followed by the song "Oh My Pa-PA". And there was the popular late 40's/early 50's black and white weekly TV show "I Remember Mama". We sure lived in a different world then.

My Dad's been gone 65 years (age 46); My Mom gone 54 years (age 53). For as little time as they were here, I was so fortunate to have them. They continue to light my path.

My sincere regrets on her passing John.

Hi Everyone, John, I'm so sorry you are going through this today. Be grateful for the memories you carry.

I just got off the phone with my Mom right before I read this. Lost my Dad, 'Barner Henry@1140, in August of '13.

John,
So sorry for your loss. From your post, it sounds as if she was lucky to have you for a son.
