Default removing 36 ford oil pan

Can the oil pan be removed with engine in the car?? Need to check out the plugs (pennys) on the bottom of block. Thanks

I did remove the pan on my 1950 flathead, I had to remove bolts on engine mounts and jacked up the motor, I think I also unhooked the exhaust, that was a long time ago, can't remember all the details.

This will help you. You will have to lift up the front of the engine and rotate the crank so the oil pan will clear it for removal.

yup you can do it. but it is a bitch! it took me 4 hr to remove the pan in my 36 pickup

take off generator, fuel pump, stand rad hoses all four, jack up car with no weight on the axle remove dip stick tube, and crossover pipe jack up motor as high is you can get it, I put sockets under the motor mounts. Take front wheels off un bolt the wish bone and wedge it down as far as you can get , take off the starter motor, and there is a bolt from the top by the starter motor them rotate the motor to get the counter weights clear
