I hope someone can verify if the 40 ford wiper transmission towers are interchangeable between the closed car and the open car. I know the linkage is different but can the chrome towers from the convertible be used on the closed car? I have a pair of closed car transmissions that the linkage is good, but the wiper shafts have ground a slot in the casting where the wiper arms mount making them unfit to chrome. The only repops available are the convertible. So, can the linkage from my closed car be installed on the convertible towers and used on my coupe?

Did you check with Drake? I thought that he recently brought back the closed car wiper towers.

Towers are very different between open and closed '40 Fords.
Pictures included... left side is open car, right side, closed models.

Thanks for the replies and the pictures, yes, I did check Drakes website and it said not available. I'll use what I have this summer to fill the hole and put the car on the road and hope Drake restocks them, or I find something that can be chromed. The car is going to be a driver not a restoration so fit and function is all that's required. Thanks again.

I have a pair of pretty decent; but not perfect Drake closed car towers if interested.
