Thanks for everyone's input! I was able to work on it this weekend and got it taken care of! Everything works fine and the gauge is cut off by the switch, which is what I was hoping for. Next step will be to add a fuse block like shown above. I like how it is set up!

The factory pop out switch is not an on/off switch you can easily access made to deter theft, you can see only one wire goes in the out wire is in the armored cable. It made the car very hard to hot wire.Theft was bad then too,if you have a motometer it to is theft resistant try to take it off without tools.
