With the thing 90% plus solid survivor and the bottom of the door and driprail absolutely shot...I think you could make a pretty good case for fixing those and trying for some fake patina where repaired. You have the metal skills, you and the stripers probably could come up with a painting technique for those areas, then we could erase this thread and pretend it never happened...
The original paneling is amazing.
