Default Buffing/Polishing Pads

Need to replace my foam pads (Lake Country CCS flat). On the LC website they tout their “Kompressor” foam pads as being user friendly, particularly to various body curves. Anyone have any experience +/- with these?

Not with that brand but I feel it depends more on the machine you are using (speed) and the cutting agent (compound) you are using. All compounding is doing is using the pad to hold a cutting agent just like the 'paper' in sandpaper is holding the cutting agent. Compound & polishing cremes are just finer and finer aggragates.

I don't use buffers mainly because I'm too aggressive and worry about removing too much mil thickness of the paint. Nothing like 'burning' a circular pattern into the paint!

Nothing better then a hand job. That way you have a better understanding of what is happening to the finish.

skip.

I've had great success with the Mother's Powerball line up. Cones for the wheels and tight spots, the ball for paint. Worth the money if you polish/claybar/wax at least three cars once per month.
