Default Rear Glass Replace

I have a 1946 Mercury coupe and need to replace the glass on the rear side windows. Can anybody tell me how the stainless around the glass disassembles? Can I remove the front part of the stainless and replace the glass? Or, do I have to take the glass completely out? I really don't want to disturb the rubber seals. Thanks in advance for any help.

As I recall to replace the glass, the entire unit with the seals, needs to come out of the car in one piece. Your car has the "tip out" quarter windows and part of the mechanism fits down into the quarter panel.

If they are 2 piece stainless, there are screws at top and bottom that hold the 2 pieces together at the pivot points. has to come out as a unit.
