Default Clutch finger adjustment

So have to ask what is the correct measurement from back of cover to the fingers? Im reading 11/16 or 3/4 depending on the source. Ive checked some old pressure plates with new disks and usually get 7/8 or close. Does it really matter what it is as long as they are all set the same?

While on the bench I've set them at 5/8" and 11/16" and not had any issues or noticed anything different.
While in the car I just set them to contact at the same time.
Both ways set to within .002"
