Re: 1937 model 74 blowing the blues
The piece that you screw into the head had a too longer screw in part. Frustrating as I looked at it and thought that could hit a valve, did the first one fine and then absolutely stupidly screwed the next one in further against my better judgement. I'm devastated at my moment of stupidity but thats what happens when someone that doest know much about engines, plays with them.
Big lesson learnt. |

Yeah Seth, I had someone else say the same. I'm in Australia and a transplant isn't just that easy to source plus I am trying to keep it strictly original.

Re: 1937 model 74 blowing the blues
Sooo the motor is not in great condition and I'm needing to source o/s pistons for the 17 stud. Any idea where to find these in the US?

Re: 1937 model 74 blowing the blues
My first tactic for finding less common Ford parts is to look up the Ford part numbers in a manual, then start searching the internet. Keep an eye on that auction site too, a surprising amount of stuff is being listed as parts stashes are being moved on by the next generation these days.

Re: 1937 model 74 blowing the blues
I have some oddball (since I don’t have any 60’s) valves, if I knew the overall length maybe that’s what they are. Longer than my 21 stud mushrooms. Can have them if fit

Re: 1937 model 74 blowing the blues
Hey Deuce lover, yes, I received that and emailed Max straight away. The wider I throw the net, the better the chance of catching something. Thanks for your help.
