I think he is saying that his car is from Canada and asking if the rods and/or thread size might be different.
Maybe the threads got stripped at some point in time and someone just ran a 1/4 - 20 or 1/4 - 28 thread on it to fix it ? Maybe even something metric
That blue plastic thing in one pic can be had for a few $ at most any hardware store and might help if you can find something similar

Ford of Canada may have made them with different thread. They did a lot of things differently. Metrics weren't common yet for North America or the Commonwealth. Robertson head style screws were favored at Ford of Canada where slot type heads were common in the US. A person would have to put a thread pitch gauge on it and check the outer diameter.
