Need help with an ID, unknown distributor.
In going through some boxes to organize things and get ready for an upcoming swap meet (Mar 25 MI, Macomb. Eastside A’s 42nd Annual Swap Meet. Russ Milne Ford, 24777 Hall Rd 8:00AM until 2:00PM, if your in the area) I came across this distributor. It was buried in the bottom of a box lot of distributor bodies that I had bought and to be honest, I didn't even know it was in there. In the first photo you can see the two rivets that held an ID tag in place that has long since disappeared.
It is a weighted centrifigual advance unit, and aside from that and the facts that it fits into a model A head and was in a box full of model A and model B distributors, I don't have a clue. Any help that anyone matbe able to offer in identifying this would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Need help with an ID, unknown distributor.
I think it is an early Mallory...there are several generations of these. Terminal, though fuzzy in the pic, looks typically Mallory.
where it says "1A" on bottom...could that be an "11A" with a close look and some scraping? |

It's a Jeep distributor. I modified one to use in a Model A.

Re: Need help with an ID, unknown distributor.
Thanks for the help. I don't like to put stuff out on the table or offer it for sale unless I have at least a half-arsed idea as to what it might be. I do not have a problem saying "I don't know" but if I can find out, I will. Thanks again for the help and hopefully I will see some folks at the swap meet next weekend.

With the way the points are mounted, could it be a clockwise rotator???? Bill W. (The advance mechanism could tell you for sure)
