Huckster windshield

After a year's hiatus, I am reviving my huckster build. Using Wagon Works plans, the photos show my current situation. The location of the front pillar does not allow for the installation of the windshield garnish molding. Obviously I missed this issue during fabrication, but I am disinclined to embark on disassembly. Should I massage the ash pillar with wood chisels, or should I trim the steel moldings?

Well IMHO there are two factors that will answer this. The first thing is what are your skills better at? Trimming it with sheetmetal, -or trimming it with a piece of wood? Second is which will provide a better windseal in that area??

For me, I think I would use the existing garnish and add sheetmetal to make it look like it wasn't an afterthought. Either way, there really is no correct or incorrect way to do it.

Brent is right. Depends on yur skills. But. Even an accopplished woodworker would have a difficult "trimming" that corner with a chisel and hammer. Even the slightist hiccup would encounter "disassembly" of the wood. Yuk. I would trimm the sheetmetal very carefylly. probably take several trips to the grinder to get the fit juz rite.


Had a similiar problem with my Delivery Wagon but realized before wood was bolted in. I did not have a kit to work with. All my wood was custon designed and fitted by me.

Let all persons know that when these moldings are applied to the correct side, they fit just fine--no modifications needed.

I think I would try somehow to trim the wood. But like mention, you need to be good with wood.
