If you fit the correct resistor in parallel (not in series or in line) with each LED lamp you use, weather it be two or four Led lamps then you can use any normal type of 6 volt flasher unit. The resistor simulates the load of a normal filament type bulb allowing the standard type flasher unit to work with LED lamps. Regards, Kevin.

Thanks - How do you wire the resistor in parallel ? I only have one wire going to stop light

I wonder why when I called Francis wiring they never mentioned that.

Connect one end of the resistor to the wire and the other end to ground. That puts it parallel with the light which is also connected to the one wire and to ground. Make sure you have good grounds!

SERIES circuit on left. PARALLEL circuit on right. DD

adileo, What !! I thought we were talking about LED turn signals, or indicators and NOT STOPLIGHTS. Resistors are required on LED turn signals connected in parallel to the LED to enable a normal 6 volt flasher unit to operate them. Read my earlier post #21 please. Resistors not required on 6volt LED stoplights or taillights on a 6volt car. Regards, Kevin.

adileo, Are you using your stoplights as turn signals as many Americans seem to do ? For added safety in these modern times I would use separate amber turn signal lights on the rear of your car. If you are using stoplights as turn signals then you should have two separate stoplight wires going from the indicator switch to each rear stoplight. The stoplight switch feeds into the turn signal switch on a separate wire. In this case then the resistors for the LED stoplights come indicators would connect onto each stoplight wire with the other side of each resistor going to ground. Regards, Kevin.

You could have done the same thing by wiring in a bulb the same way and a lot cheaper. LOL

You tape the bulb to the wirees and it will not be bouncing around.
