Default do it right

I have a 41 ford pickup with a 59 flathead v 8 that is apart for repairs. It had developed a rod knock due to about 10 qts of gasoline diluted oil. Floating rod bearings, WTheck, never heard of such a thing and I been cranking wrenches all my life. How do you check clearances and what should they be? Is there a publication that would help?

Ol Ron, describes the technique for measuring bearing clearances on the floating rod bearings in his book, “Nostalgia,” author, Ron Holleran.
