Hi,
Would anyone have a good parts drawing to suit a multi plate clutch gearbox?
Mainly the input shaft area as mine has a bit to much endfloat( when I depress the clutch I can see the shaft moves slightly forward with the throw out fork movement.
I am trying to see if anything is missing from a previous rebuild.
My clutch pedal moves up and down slightly when I accelerate and decelerate,
I just rebuild the multi plate clutch and that works well but having problems with changing up and down gears.
I can find a few drawings show the later boxes but not the early ones.
Thanks for any input.

Thanks, in this info was this, just what I was looking for.

“The on'ly protection the multiple disk clutch has is the addition of two extra oil baffles just forward of the transmission front bearing.”

Last builder(have ago Harry), fit the baffle and Slinger on either side of the bearing.
When I saw this I was Suss as it wouldn’t have allowed much oil to the bearing, but didn’t have anything to compare it to.
The gear milled into the baffle and caused the shaft to be able to travel forward when the clutch was depressed.
Sorted now, thanks again.

how much movement are you talking about? you say slightly.
the bell housing is the front bearing retainer.
is the shaft moving in the bearing or is the bearing moving within the housing.
can check that movement with the shift tower off?

i am assembling one here but i may not get that far for a couple of days due to a bit of frame repair i need to do. BUT when i get mine together i can see how much movement there is in it, if you like.

Thanks Old Ugly, but I found the problem being the baffle and slinger had been fit on either side of the bearing,opposed to both on the clutch side of the bearing.
Inside the bellhousing the slinger and clip make up the front bearing retainer.
You can’t see the bearing with the shift tower off but you could see the input shaft move back and fourth when depressing the clutch, easier just to take the inspection cover off and see the movement on the shaft and the throw out bearing.
It would move the whole clutch assembly forward which would otherwise be starting to actuate the clutch, hence the problem.
The forward movement when I depressed the clutch was a good 1/16” and when you de accelerate that movement would move the fork and pedal but also cause the clutch to hang up.
I replaced the baffle(flatter slinger if you like)as it had been rubbing on the gear being in the wrong position and worn a groove in it causing half the play. I took some measurements and made up .014” of shims and put them between the baffle and slinger getting rid of the play, be back together tomorrow and hopefully all will be good.

the one i have here has a tiny bit of back and forth movement, maybe 0.004" if that.
yup easy to see it move looking through the top inspection plate but hard to see what exactly is wrong.
glad you got it figured out.
