Default Any V8'ers from the St. Louis area going to Gettysburg?

Are there any V8'ers from the St. Louis area or west going to the EFV8 meet in Gettysburg in August? I'd like to go and would like to travel along with other V8's. I'm located 50 miles east of St. Louis along interstate 64. Let me know if you're interested I'd like to drive along with company.

Thanks,
Seth Swoboda

Cecil, I'm not going to be in Tulsa. Tulsa is actually closer to me but I will not be able to attended. Dang job get's in the way! If you are willing and have the time I'd be willing to meet up with you anywhere along your way to or from for a quick hello. If you need my phone number I'll send it in a private message or on facebook.

Cecil, how does the flathead pull the mountains in West Virgina? I went through there when I was 16 in route to Williamsburg Va. I remember traveling through the mountains in a modern car.

Seth looks like you are close to Mt. Vernon. I went to elementary and Jr High
schools there almost 60 years ago.

Bruce, I am in Nashville, Illinois right along Illinois route 15. I visit Mt. Vernon often as it is only about 25 minutes east of me. Do you ever get back to Mt. Vernon?

Seth, we are going to be on a tight schedule both going and coming but I thank you for the invitation.

My Ford does well on the roads in WV, except that the temp gauge always climbs on any pull. My '50 heats up on a pull and my 40 pickup heats up at slow speeds. See you in Gettysburg.

Sounds normal on the temps. I built a new engine for Tom's '47 tudor this winter. Last weekend it was 90 degrees here and humid ran it down the road for a while at 65 mph. Manual temp gauge under the dash showed 200 when running 65. She ain't boiling over so I keep on trucking.

A guy here in Nashville bought a nice 1950 crestliner on an estate sale in Indiana recently. I saw it this past weekend. I think he got it cheap. Tom said offer him a $1000 more than he paid for it provided he shows his purchase receipt. Looks like a good driver.

Still looking for someone to caravan to Gettysburg, what say you guys? Anyone headed that way from St. Louis or west of here?

Seth,

As you know I'm over here in Illinois as well but, unfortunately, I'm not going to make it to Gettysburg - either flying or driving - that dang job thing is getting in my way as well. I've got 2 work trips and 2 weddings in as many months so the EFV8 meets are off the table this year. I will get out later this month to the LA Roadster Show though.

Dan, I'll see you at some point this summer. Looking forward to talking again. One of these days we will be able to V8 at our leisure.
