whitewall tires are for people who would rather clean their car than drive it

Blackwalls all the way! I have blackwall tires on my cars that are done and will put blackwalls on the others once I get around to finishing them.

Whitewalls look good on era Lincolns and other big cars, but the Model A doesn't look right IMO with them, esp with light colored wheels. Stone guards are another of my Model A pet peeves.

act. I like the black or white wall's, But I've had B/W firestone's on it for three years now and just wanted a change, I've had more good comments sence I put the W/W's on, But they were from people who just like old cars, not model "A" club type's.
Now that im retired I have plenty of time to swap them back and forth for an "A" model show or just a sat. drive thru.

Purdy Swoft, You seem to have some great looking "A" models, How many do you have, How bout some more pic's ?

Thanks Louis, I've probably got too many model A's, but if another one comes to me, I wouldn't resist . Here is where I sometimes store the tudor.

I don't know what the big deal is about keeping white walls clean. I've never done any more than just wash them with the rest of the car, and they look fine to me--not bleached bone chalky white, but nice.

Here's a pictorial history of my car's wheels and tires. I understand those who prefer black but I think the ww on spoked black wheels are the sharpest combination on this car.

Here is Sweet Caroline, my favorite with black tires and red wheels.

In your case it's a tough decision, the whites with the 16 or 17" wheels look pretty good with the colors. I would keep both sets and swap them around once in awhile. One thing of note is those smaller wheels are a bear to mount especially in the front as you can't see the stud locations. The Model A wheels are much easier to mount and to clean in my opinion.

Some of my cars don't look too good. Deb says the worse they look, the better i like them. My daughter at the throttle, here. We decided to take Gus our rusty june 29 tudor for a spin. Oh yes, Gus has black tires and yellow wheels. I plan to paint the wheels black.

Swoft,
You have really good taste, You know when to use W/W's and not, Your cars are beautiful, And I can see why Sweet Caroline is your favorite .

But for the rest of you B/W guys, It's a proven fact that "A" models with white wall's go faster then "A" model's with B/W's .
"I rest my case" .

Not me. It's a little known fact (said in my best Cliff Clavin voice), that dogs only pee on whitewalls.

That why so many of them have that hideous yellow tinge.

In these parts we call whitewalls "Lifesavers"

Black wheels look great until you get caught in the rain....W/W look the best they ever will on the day you first install them. (Do they still make SOS pads?)

That yellow tinge on W/W's is caused by abrasive cleaners such as chlorine, bleach, commet, ajax, and SOS pads , instead of dish detergent and a scrub brush that us elite who run W/W's use,
That is unless your into rock crawling and off roading, then I would reccomend you stick with mud grip B/W's .
